Support

The Central Illinois Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired is a 501c3 corporation that is funded by private philanthropic support from corporations, private grants, fundraisers, individual donors, and the Louis Oppenheim Charitable Trust Fund. No funding is provided by state or federal taxing entities.  Please consider making an online donation today by clicking on the Donate button at the bottom of this page.

The Center also depends on the generous donation of time and physical labor from local organizations and volunteers.  The Center is always in need of volunteers to help with the following tasks: serving meals to the blind and visually impaired on Wednesdays, assisting office staff, helping with fundraisers, helping with classes at the Center, helping with indoor and outdoor maintenance, and a variety of other projects.

Check out the Calendar of Events page for any current or upcoming fundraisers.

WAYS YOU CAN SUPPORT THE CICBVI…

WITH YOUR TIME

VolunteerMatch

We currently employ a part-time executive director who is in charge of day-to-day operations at the Center. Our Board Members volunteer their time for fundraising, programs, and other areas to help the Center run. Oftentimes we run short of “person-power” and would love to involve more people in the community who are interested in helping!
